Soon, You Will Be A Quilt!

I am about to embark on a first for me! I am making a quilt this weekend! Or at least sewing the top.

I found a simple quilt recipe, and since it is only straight lines, I figure I can make it!

The fabrics I am using are:

Happy Dots Blue, Windy Day Aqua, Dotted Paisley Turquoise, Ghastly Forest Green

Sally’s Skirt Key Lime, Hugs & Kisses Apple, and the backing will be in this soft tealy blue with ivory stripes and little puckers. I cannot find the name of this on Greenwood‘s website, or on the selvedge.

Fun on the Vine Green, Eyelet Grey, Lotsa Dots White, Finery Cream

Birch Forest Aqua, Gem Yellow, and a basic soft Snow Kona for the spacers.

It’s just a little quilt, but one has to start a new addiction somewhere!

take out he polka dots, and add a light orange, really pale, or a peach. Love the choices!!! can’t wait to see the end result.

I really like the polka dots. I put them in to pull out more of the pale blue, and the little bit of colour on one of the greens. If anything, I am regretting the green with black trees. But that is an easy fix. It is my first, mistakes will be made, and I will learn from them. Thanks for coming out of the lurking and commenting 🙂 Miss you Auntie DeeDee!

Thanks! Your quilt looks great! The scooter pattern is indeed one that would inspire a quilt around it. It was the same with this one for the BackYard Baby line. Your links were helpful too, and I will make sure I reference them when I do my finished project post.
